** Debunking Cyclic Patterns in Your Life**

I think our humble forum is matured to a point where I feel like I can discuss an open concept that I feel will help quite a few of us understand each other and each other's experiences.

I study history. I used to study it alot and for a very good reason. I firmly believed in a concept I called (I'm sure others have called it something different) "Cyclic Circumstances."

I don't believe that history repeats itself. But I do believe that all circumstances are cyclic. In other words, I don't think there is any situation in the world that is truly unique. Abstracted to a level, the circumstances befalling any man or woman in any situation have happened to someone else before and are going to happen again. What makes life interesting is in trying to understand how someone reacts to their circumstances.

I'm going to go one step deeper. We are a product of our environment. How we choose to view the world, and then how the world exposes itself to us, are in perfect harmony. In other words, your particular set of influences, thoughts and experiences, ensure that you see a world that radiates with those influences, thoughts and experiences.

That's why a miserable man stays miserable regardless of how rich he is. A woman that constantly complains about meeting jerks, somehow always finds them. A couple that thinks the other spouse is going to cheat on them, usually has it so that the other does. In other words, and a core philosophy of mine before I ever joined this forum, all that one attracts is all that one is attracted to.

If you're sincere, you understand where I'm coming from. And here's the vicious cycle ... your world becomes all that you're attracted to. You find evidence of what you believe EVERY day. And hence, if you're views are negative about beautiful women, or even women in general, I can assure you that all you're going to find is nothing but manipulative, malicious, much maligned women.

But, if you're view is the opposite. That perhaps these women are not out to deceive. Not out to manipulate. They're somehow beautiful but it's up to you to understand how and then make *HER* feel so. They are, as Badboy says, a mystery to be solved, then that becomes your world and you'll find evidence of *that* every day.

So...if this philosophy resonates with you...consider this. If you want to take a look at who you truly are inside...take a look at everything around you. You're reflecting yourself in your environment.

The great thing about this forum, the reason why I'm on here and nowhere else, is because we get to understand other environments, other cycles, and other harmonies. Zan's cycle of life is very different than most of ours as is Johnny's, but in understanding how these individuals were able to change their internal being and attract more of what they believe to be true, is truly worth the effort. It makes you happier.

I'd rather live in a world where women are beautiful ANY DAY rather than in a world where I am angry with them.

And hence its a choice.

Very well put my friend of the literary relm. We, as individual's of society have an obigation to our fellow man and woman to enhance live's. Be remembered for wonderful event's rather than tragic.

I understand what you're saying and I also think your mindset determines what you attract into your life. It's through our own actions we change our world so if our mind starts following different processes, different results will appear.

Funny effect of this: if you've so far attracted everything in your life with old patterns (and you just started using a new pattern) you are physically surrounded by the past and your mind is already in the future. So don't give up if results seem to take too long. Reality just needs some time to catch up. lol!

What your basically stating is the Law of Attraction. A good film for people to see is The Secret. Although I think they go a little to far, the underlying concept is very much true. You attract to you, what you convey.

I just think it lacks balance. Life can sometimes be ABSOLUTE HELL and theres nothing you could have done differently to change it. What you're describing here reminds me of positive thinking. I'm all for looking at the positive, heading towards the positive, etc... but I'm also about being real. I think if I just always, "Pretend" that everything is great and dandy when its really not it would screw me up mentally and eventually I would burst.

You and I were discussing porn stars and strippers, and how they have (What I personally believe) is a low self-image. These women are flat out manipulators... theres no denying it... atleast in the stripper realm. I dated one this year, and I tried to look for the positive. Its not like I have this negative mindset or anything... I still think shes great and exceptional, but to deny that she never tried to manipulate would be like trying to say 9/11 never happened. Theres evil, terrible people out there... MEN and WOMEN. Women are not this angelic, perfect creature, although the ones that are pure as you discussed can seem that way, and I want them in my life.

I'm all about looking for the spiritual, and many women are not there. They (Some... certainly not ALL) are very surface oriented. I'm willing to take the time to explain some of these things to women, but it is unrealistic to expect all of them to, "get it".

I think its good to be able to recognize those who ARE NOT looking for the positive like you and I, and those who ARE. It helps us to quickly decipher if we need to be on guard or not. If we just classify ALL women as, "non-manipulators" people who are less one-night stand guys like myself might get drawn into a relationship that would not be healthy for him. I think one of the most important aspects of what I'm trying to say here is to be able to decipher who would make a good partner for us in our spiritual growth.

Wow Pacman. I finally got it. You were burned bad! You're not alone my friend. Let go of what that woman did to you. I really do get why you feel the way you do about the adult entertainment industry. But you're gonna have to get over it. I know you're trying to stay positive and other people here are not understanding you.
You just said you want a spiritual woman. Well guess what pal? There not in a strip club or any club for that matter. But there are other venues out there with really good women in them. I really hope 2008 is a better year for you. All the best.

I have mixed feelings about The Secret. In my view, it's basically an old truth expounded by the likes of Napoleon Hill, repackaged and marketed really really well. (and it's not really a law!)
A certain Amazon review nailed what the devious and deceitful marketing techniques used were..but anyway: The Secret oversimplifies this matter grossly. It's message could be interpreted as 'wishful thinking is all you need, you can even stay at home and get whatever the hell you want'. But it's not that, it's all about how you perceive the world (what you perceive), what meanings you attribute to events and things you see, and how you *decide* to react on that. And I believe that's a part of what mr BDannyOcean is referring to, although still oversimplified of course.

There's this life-transformation course called Landmark Forum. Although part of what I got from one of their introductory nights was that it is in fact possible to mix cult-tactics with buisness practice, the other part is that your life is in a large part determined by the 'stories' aka meanings you attach to experiences. And 'attach' is an active verb.

Another thing that came out of landmark is that life is essentially 'empty and meaningless' and that sounds like a negative thing. However view it as a vacuum that can be filled with whatever you want. Why not fill it with good stuff. None of us has met every woman in the world so we can't really make a generalisationlike 'they are all manipulative, or they are all lovely'. If one of you met 100 women and 98 were complete arseholes then you would make a generalisation that way, if you met 98that were lovely then you would generalise that way. But ask yourself what are the odds that I would meet only bitches and he would meet only angels. Luck? More likely to be mindset.
